Please note that the Barn is strictly a Breakfast/Brunch venue. It is definitely higher scale and the food/menu choices/pricing reflect. This is not your average diner or restaurant. Not sure if they will be back but it really makes you feel like you are eating fresh ice cream!Īnother tail in Little Compton that you will surely enjoy with the kids is Simmons Mill Pond.Reviewed By eminker - New York, New York, United States In previous visits we always saw cows in the field near the stand that we could admire while eating our ice cream but they weren’t out this last visit. Visit Grey’s Ice Cream after which is a delicious treat. It does not go in a loop so you walk it and then walk back once you are at the end. Cons : This trail is not blazed so that would be helpful also if there were maps posted every so often so you knew how far you were from certain things. There was no area to buy food here so take what you need and use bug spray! Tips and Recommendations : We pack food which I find to be helpful in case the kids need a snack-lol always! Also for sitting and admiring the beauty of nature. We knew it would be a not so ideal day so we went in the morning and intended to leave before the rain Duration : We spent 2 hours here exploring.Location : Dundery Brook Trail is about 2 miles of trails that are flat and kid friendly in terms of walk-ability.Parking : FREE parking and admission-there are two lots for this trail- one at the Veterans Field behind the tennis courts and a smaller lot on West Main Road, 1.3 miles south of Peckham Road and 0.3 miles north of Meetinghouse Lane.Weather : It has to be a nice day because it is outside. There was no sign about this but doesn’t the black one look like a bat? is that a bat house? Bumble Bee Pond just so you have an idea of the terrain off the long walkway if you choose to leave it must have been a full moon because these two kids fought most of this hike and then this happened! So sweet and thank goodness it ended I was going crazy We also saw a great deal of beetles which the kids enjoyed. There are some ponds so we saw some beautiful birds and frogs. It was nice to sit and watch the birds while having a snack. We liked how the trails had benches built into the railings in certain locations. It was a relaxing trail and there weren’t too many people on it so that was pleasant too because a majority of the path is very slender and it’s more of a burden to pass people without one of the parties pulling off the trail for a moment.
